138th Rose Parade presented by Honda

The 138th Rose Parade presented by Honda kicks off the new year on Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena, just as it has for generations. Spectators line the 5.5-mile route to cheer on spectacular floats covered entirely in flowers and natural materials, along with world-class marching bands and dazzling equestrian units.

For kids, seeing the floats in person is pure magic. The giant animated figures, bright blooms and booming band music feel far bigger than they do on TV, and the parade moves slowly enough for little ones to take in every detail.

Watching from the curb is free. The route begins at Green Street and Orange Grove Boulevard, heads north on Orange Grove, turns east on Colorado Boulevard and finishes along Sierra Madre Boulevard. Families who prefer a guaranteed seat can buy reserved grandstand tickets, and the City of Pasadena offers free street-level viewing areas for guests with disabilities.

Curbside camping is allowed starting at noon on December 31, and the route closes to cars beginning at 10:00 PM that night. Metro offers expanded rail service on parade day, which is often the easiest way to avoid traffic.

Curbside viewing along the parade route is free.

Reserved grandstand seats are sold through Sharp Seating, the official ticket provider, and range from about $82 to $133 per seat depending on location.

Free street-level viewing areas are available for guests with disabilities and up to four companions through the City of Pasadena.
