Little Swashies

Little Swashies

Like dance, theatrical swordplay is both complex in structure and beautiful in execution. The timing must be precise and the form flawless all while being executed with effortless flair.

Training in this class will improve your posture, balance, eye-hand coordination and isometric strength. You will memorize complex sequences and time your actions with a partner all while continuously recalling a litany of movements, attacks, parries and evasions. It goes without saying that all of this also requires a tremendous amount of mental focus.

The Art of The Swashbuckler theatrical fencing class is a full mind-body experience suitable for all ages.

One-On-One Instruction is available

There are many reasons for seeking private instruction. Perhaps you have a role or audition coming up that you would like to train for. Maybe you wish to study a form of theatrical combat not offered as a class at this time. For folks already enrolled in one of our classes, perhaps you want to refine techniques learned in the group setting. Whatever the reason, be assured that we will tailor a program perfectly suited to your specific needs.

My children take The Art of The Swashbuckler classes with Marc Antonio Pritchett and they absolutely love it! They audited their first class and were immediately hooked. They learned foot positioning, sword positioning and the terminology used. Lessons are demonstrated by Marc and then practiced by the students. There is never a dull moment. Now, my kids are choreographing a routine which includes sword fighting, tumbling, and other combat moves. They've even seen some of the moves they learned in some of the shows they've watched on TV. And to think they knew nothing of this the very first time they walked in.
Marc emphasizes safety for his students as well as technique. He is a sincerely a likable person. My family highly recommends The Art of The Swashbuckler classes. You definitely will enjoy it!--Mary L.

Highly recommended! What a unique and wonderful class! I have all of my children taking this class and we couldn't be happier with it. As a parent I see my children in a very safe environment exercising while learning balance, coordination, discipline, and trust. Most of all, I see them excited and happy. I credit their teacher Marc Antonio Pritchett for that. His professionalism and charisma are the icing on the "I get to play with swords" cake.--Mike S.
