Echo Park Lake

After a massive makeover, the historic Echo Park Lake has finally become a family-friendly destination worthy of its bold backdrop: the Downtown skyline amid the lotus flower blooms and fountains. You can push your way through the lake in a pedal boat or stroll around the path that hugs its borders.  The park features pedal boats, picnic tables, and walking paths.
 
Fishing: 
Fishing is permitted at the lake, and a California fishing license is required for anglers 16 years of age and older. Common fish species found in the lake include catfish, carp, and tilapia. The lake is open to fishing from sunrise to sunset, and there are designated fishing areas along the shoreline. The lake is also stocked with fish on a regular basis by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
