Museum of Make Believe

The Museum of Make Believe in Laguna Beach is a small, whimsical walk-through world built by local volunteer artists. The current exhibit, Ghost Stories & Fairy Tales, leads families along a hand-painted cobblestone path past a moss-covered cottage, a giant tree sculpture and twinkling fireflies.

Along the way, kids discover paintings, miniatures, puppets and storybooks, plus interactive surprises. The Treasure Hunter's ticket adds a golden dragon's egg with a gem and fortune inside, along with a treasure map that leads to a prize, while the Storybook ticket also includes a take-home book.

A visit takes about an hour, and the experience is especially fun for children who are old enough to read along. The museum is run by a nonprofit organization.

Open Thursday–Sunday, 11 am–7 pm. Hourly entry sessions, with the last session at 6 pm.
