Battleship Iowa Museum: General Access Pass

The Battleship USS Iowa Museum invites families to step aboard one of America's most famous warships, docked right on the Los Angeles waterfront in San Pedro. The General Access Pass opens up a self-guided tour across multiple decks, where visitors can peek into crew sleeping quarters, the galley, massive gun turrets and the command areas where history was made.

Kids stay busy with Vicky's Scavenger Hunt, led by the museum's dog mascot, and a free mobile app adds augmented reality, videos and stories in seven languages. Fun surprises along the way include the ship's famous bathtub, a rare feature on a battleship, plus ship models and exhibits that bring the Navy's story to life.

Most families spend two to three hours on board. The ship has steep stairs, narrow passageways and uneven surfaces, so comfortable shoes are a smart choice, and strollers can be tricky below deck.
