The Best Summer Concerts 2019 in Los Angeles!

Summer is almost here, and many public and private venues offer free concert series for your enjoyment. We have gathered a list of summer concerts happening in Los Angeles in 2019. Keep on reading and keep on dancing with music this summer!

Concerts on Canon

You are invited to enjoy free live musical performances at the Beverly Canon Gardens every Thursday from 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm, and also 7:15pm to 8:00 pm. This wonderful free event showcases a series of local, professional, talented musicians in a variety of genres. It's a wonderful way to spend a warm summer evening after dining at a nearby restaurant or bring your own food and enjoy the ambiance. Sing-a-longs featured at every concert excluding July 25th.

Every Friday night, from May 31st through August 30th, enjoy free concert performance on the West Patio featuring L.A.’s best musicians. Grab something to eat at the Farmer’s Market or bring your own food and enjoy the music.

Western Music Association Showcase Autry Museum of the American West 4700 Western Heritage Way

3rd Sunday of Every Month

12:00 pm – 3:00 pm

This special event features musicians and cowboy poets performing stories and songs of the romantic Old West, contemporary music of the American West, and songs of the open range and the American cowboy. The event is included with your admission and is free for Autry members.

Western Music Association Showcase Sizzling Summer Nights 4700 Western Heritage Way

July 11, 2019 – August 22, 2019

12:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Dance the night away with L.A.’s best salsa and Latin fusion bands at the Autry’s popular summer series. The outdoor parties include free lessons with an instructor, access to museum galleries, a separate children’s dance floor, and more. Tacos, margaritas, and other light refreshments are available for purchase from Crossroads West. ($15 for non members $6 for children, and free for members)

Marina del Rey Summer Concerts present exciting symphonic and pop concerts at beautiful Burton Chace Park. Enjoy a serene sunset by the water & brilliant music under the stars for free! You need to RSVP through Eventbrite for each concert. Seating is festival-style and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

MacArthur Park is presenting 50 free summer concerts this summer. Each summer, over 60,000 people of all ages and backgrounds gather on the lawn in historic MacArthur Park to enjoy free live music under the stars. Enjoy over 100 concerts a year! Concerts feature leading international and local ensembles in programs of classical, jazz, Latin, and new music. Jazz at LACMA Series is held on Fridays from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Latin Sounds is on Saturdays from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The outdoor music festival that’s almost as iconic as the Pier itself is back for the 35th year. The 2019 series will spotlight the best and brightest SoCal has to offer and unique artists from around the world - a truly Local Meets Global experience. Each night of the series will be a Pier-wide festival, complete with immersive art, food offerings, a beer and spirits garden, games and interactive activities all along the Pier promenade.

The Skirball Cultural Center will hold free Sunset Concerts every Thursdays. This year’s lineup include DJs representing the diverse communities of greater Los Angeles. The 2019 Sunset Concerts schedule is as follows: Gaby Moreno (July 18); Río Mira (July 25) in their California debut; The Klezmatics (August 1); Cha Wa(August 8); Tamar Ilana & Ventanas (August 15) in their Los Angeles debut; and Josef Leimberg (August 22).

Garden Concerts for Kids is a free outdoor music series for kids and their families in the Getty Center's Central Garden featuring some of the best children's musical artists from across the nation. Feel free to bring a picnic blanket, but lawn chairs are not allowed.

One-hour music and dance events that represent the region's diverse communities are presented on Saturday mornings in July and August in the Ford's shaded outdoor amphitheater. Perfect for children ages 4 to 12 and their families. FREE for kids; adults pay $5. Gates open early for preshow kid-friendly nature activities and craft activities. The LA County Library also provides tailored book lists to accompany each show.

Valley Cultural Foundation’s Concerts on the Green are free to the public and held on Sunday evenings at 5:30 pm with Emerging Artists Opening Act performances. Headliners will follow shortly after and end at 8 pm. Check the website for time and full schedule.

The Pasadena POPS returns with a fabulous lineup of summer concerts from June 22nd through September 14th. Concerts start at 7:30 pm and end at 10:00 pm. Visit Pasadena POPS for more information and tickets. The Pasadena POPS Box Office will be open at noon the day of each concert.
