LAST DAY OF SCHOOL - LAUSD
The last day of school for the 2022-2023 school year for LAUSD is on Friday, June 9, 2023, according to LAUSD Revised School Calendar!
Revised School Calendar for LAUSD
LAUSD revised the 2022-2023 school calendar on October 11, 2022. All the revised dates have been added to the calendar below. You can also download the calendar in the link that has been provided at the end of this article.
The revisions are as follows:
Required school Day - October 19, 2022
Required school Day - December 7, 2022
Optional Acceleration Days - December 19-20, 2022
Optional Acceleration Days - April 3-4, 2023
Last Day of School - June 9, 2023

Thanksgiving Break 2022
Thanksgiving Break is from November 21, 2022, and November 25, 2022.
Winter Break 2022-2023
The 2022 Winter Break will start on December 19, 2022, and run through January 6, 2023. The kids will return to school on January 9, 2023.
Acceleration Days 2023
Acceleration Days for Spring 2023 are on April 3-4, 2023. These extra days of instruction will allow students to explore important concepts and receive individualized academic help with the support of a teacher. Whether your student is interested in an exciting enrichment activity or needs additional academic support, Acceleration Days provide a benefit to all who participate.
Acceleration Days registration window extended to March 29!
Families, can register students for Acceleration Days on April 3-4, 2023 until March 29 by logging into the Parent Portal or by contacting your student's school.

» Monday, March 27: 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
» Tuesday, March 28: 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
» Wednesday, March 29: 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Acceleration Days are designed like a regular school day, with students receiving academic and social-emotional support. All students will receive engaging enrichment activities and personalized academic lessons at a Los Angeles Unified school, with healthy meals and after-school programs available to all.
During Acceleration Days, teachers and school support staff will meet with students one-on-one or in small group settings to identify areas of improvement to provide them with the appropriate support to ensure they reach their highest potential.
Spring Break 2023
Spring Break is from April 3, 2023, through April 7, 2023. The kids will return to school on April 10, 2023.

What is an Acceleration Day?
Acceleration Days are designed to help address learning loss associated with the pandemic. Students will be offered 32 additional hours of instruction, enrichment, connectivity, and social and emotional support at school. All students are welcome and encouraged to participate in the extra days!

My understanding is that kids go back to school on August 11th, 2022 in LAUSD. Now here I found that it is August 15th! I agree with previous comments that it is very irresponsible to publish something that is not official from LAUSD. Why would they do that?? Officially, there is no set date to start as of yet. Period!
People book non-refundable travel arrangements based on information found in articles like this one. It's irresponsible to publish these dates when the LAUSD school board has not yet approved a 2022-23 calendar much less published one. Heads up to other parents booking travel. Author, please put a giant disclaimer on the article. Why publish this yet?
