Free Museum Days For LA Kids in September 2019!

Take advantage of free Museum days, and teach your kids about fascinating exhibits offered for free this month. Among the Museums that offer free days this month are Skirball Cultural Center, Kidspace Children's Museum, California Science Center, La Tar Pits, Natural History Museum, and many more.

Get free museum admission the first Tuesday of every month (except July and August) and free museum admission every Tuesday in September. We recommend reserving tickets in advance to guarantee museum entry and to skip the line, because of high attendance on these days. L.A. County residents receive free Museum admission Monday through Friday from 3 to 5 pm. Bring a valid ID or utility bill the day of your visit. Children 2 and under are always free.

Skirball Cultural Center is free every Thursday. Admission to Ruby Gallery exhibitions, located outside Zeidler's Café, is free to all every day.

LACMA is free after all day on September 10, 2019, and from 3pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays if you’re an L.A. County resident. The Boone Children's Gallery at LACMA is free and open to the public from 10 am until 5 pm every day to visitors of all ages, where you can explore the art of brush painting. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Kidspace Children Museum

Free admission on September 3rd from 4 pm to 8 pm. Admission to the museum is FREE for everyone during these hours only. On this special night, Kidspace will promote family learning about the arts, while emphasizing the diverse cultures and communities present in Greater Los Angeles. Expect crowds and long admission lines. Themed activities will be facilitated between 4:30 and 7:30pm.

Every Fridays during summer, La Tar Pits Museum is offering Free Museum Admission, and special activities for families. Also receive free admission on September 3rd, September 10th, September 17th, and September 24th. L.A. County residents receive free Museum admission Monday through Friday from 3 to 5 pm. Bring a valid ID or utility bill the day of your visit.

Free admission on September 17th from 9 am to 5 pm. Open to all ages.


Also 10+ L.A. County Museums Will Be Free For Smithsonian Magazine’s Museum Day, which is September 21, 2019. Participants include the Japanese American National Museum , the GRAMMY Museum, Autry Museum of the American West, and more.
