The Orange County Cherry Blossom Festival is an annual spring celebration of Japanese and Japanese American culture in Southern California. Each year the festival brings together a broad spectrum of performers and activities that span the traditional to the contemporary. Taiko drumming, minyo, classical dance, gagaku music, origami, ikebana are presented alongside cosplay contests, anime characters, electronic music, jazz, video game tournaments and beyond.

Festival hours are Friday March 15th from 5 pm to 9 pm, Saturday March 16th from 10 am to 9 pm, and Sunday March 17th from 10 am to 4 pm. This event is free and open to the public.

The Natural History Museum L.A.

Get blown away this weekend at The Natural History Museum by the plants, animals, and the people devoted to protecting and studying them. Over 35 exhibitor booths with local organizations will be there to amaze you. Meet live animals such as falcons, owls, oppossums, and reptiles. Build your own bird houses. Talk face to face with real scientists and nature experts who are excited to answer your questions. Also enjoy hands on nature crafts​ and activities for kids.

The event is free with paid admission, or for museum members (plus 9 a.m. early admission). Museum admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, youth and students, and $7 for children 12 and under.

The endlessly imaginative PigPen Theatre Co. is performing this weekend at The Wallis in Beverly Hills with a luminously lo-fi spectacle that elevates traditional storytelling to high art at Wallis Annenberg.

Join Aquarium of Pacific on Free Friday evenings when Shark Lagoon will be open until 9:00 p.m. You are invited to get up close with the ocean’s ultimate predators at the Aquarium of the Pacific for FREE during Shark Lagoon Nights. You will have the opportunity to touch bamboo sharks and see large sharks such as sand tigers as well as rays in the Aquarium’s Shark Lagoon.

The Aquarium of the Pacific’s fourteenth annual International Children’s Festival is a special festival for kids. Enjoy performances by a children’s choir and martial arts demonstrations. Kids of all ages can partake in an international percussion circle and Native American and Pacific Islander traditional children’s crafts and games.
