Much Ado About Avengers is the 12th free adaptation of Shakespeare, playing every weekend in August for families, in Media Park, in front of The Actors’ Gang Theater, at The Ivy Substation. Take blankets or lawn chairs and coolers of snacks. Each performance is followed by a treat celebration where you can meet and take selfies with the characters! (Free)

Her latest album, Swing Set features gypsy jazz, zydeco, swing, blues, and Dixieland to encourage kids and families to celebrate the music of New Orleans as part of the American folk music heritage. Featuring 18 original songs and a cast of 10, Mutt House is the story of quirky outsider Eddie Corbin. Bullied all his life, Eddie has finally found a place to call home - a neglected downtown animal shelter. When the city threatens to close the shelter, Eddie must do something he’s never done before: stand up for himself and fight for what’s right. With the help of six zany mutts, he faces his fears and makes an unexpected human connection in the process. ($29+)

Top celebrity vehicles, more than 150 classic cars, automotive-related vendors, and deejays spinning music from the decades will be in the spotlight at the 7th Annual Downtown Burbank Car Classic on Saturday, August 4 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Magnolia Boulevard will be closed to traffic, extending the event into Burbank Town Center on San Fernando Boulevard. (Free)

Encouraging observation and exploration, mobile Discovery Carts at Children's Garden, offer visitors the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities in the gardens using live plants, artifacts, and other objects. Each cart features 3-5 activities throughout the day. Activities may take between 2-5 minutes each, and though designed for children, are also engaging for adults. Cart activities vary by theme.
