Taste the many culinary offerings of Chinatown and LA’s gourmet food trucks; sample the neighborhood’s wares; watch Chinese chefs perform cooking demonstrations; experience large-scale, outdoor video projections; take part in hands-on, Chinese cultural activities; sip on craft brews and dance in Central Plaza with 89.9 KCRW’s DJ’s!

The Annual California Watermelon Festival features All You-Can-Eat Watermelon, Watermelon Carving, Cooking Demonstrations and Tastings, Crazy Watermelon Arena Games: Melon Skiing, Melon Bungee Pull, Watermelon Skiing, Watermelon King & Queen Coronation and Comedy Sketch, BMX Pro Stunt Bike Show, Great Bands, Feeding Butterflies, and more. This event is kid friendly and also features Petting Zoo, Pony Rides,Children’s Theater, Magic Shows, Bubble Parties, Balloon Hats, Games, and Crafts for children, which are all included in the admission. Tickets are available online ($13.50 for adults and $9 for children ages 3-11). Tickets are more expensive at the gate.

Relive your favorite memories and create new ones during Cabrillo Marine Aquarium's Family Sandcastle Day! This event is free and open to everyone. All you need to take is your best sandcastle building tools, a little shovel and bucket, and your castle creativity to this fun beach event. The sand on Cabrillo Beach will be thoroughly wet down to prepare for sand construction; the rest is up to you! (Free)

The Bowl celebrates one of the longest-running shows in Broadway history – Annie!
