Join La Brea Tar Pits & Museum for a Late Night Friday at the Tar Pits. All summer long through August 31, the La Brea Tar Pits and Museum will be open from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Fridays with Free General Admission. Plus, add on exciting special activities only offered during the Late Night Fridays. (Free)

On first Friday of each month, families can enjoy a selection of food trucks on Abbot Kinney. Select shops will remain open late, select restaurants will have special promotions, and be on the lookout for special events in pop-up locations.

Spend the weekend of July 7th & 8th living it up with a fun, cultural event. What will you find at the Salsa Festival? Fun for the entire family! You’ll find tons of delicious salsas to sample in the Salsa Tasting Tent, along with local food vendors offering up their best selections throughout the Festival. Live music, dancing, and Beer & Margarita Bar making the Salsa Fest the perfect place to spend a summer afternoon- spice up your weekend! (Free)

E.T. is playing at Will Rogers State Historic Park on July 7th. Doors open at 6pm and movie starts at 8pm. E.T. is a story of a troubled child summons the courage to help a friendly alien escape Earth and return to his home world. Tickets must be purchased in advance online.


Griffith Park - the Old Zoo

7pm - 10pm

The Independent Shakespeare Company presents free Shakespeare performances for free: A Midsummer Night's Dream. The performance site is at the Old Zoo in Griffith Park. Ample free parking is available. Look for the hot pink signs directing you to the parking lots near the Merry-Go-Round. Parking lot 2 is the closest to the performance site, but be prepared for a bit of a walk up a hill. (Free)


Lakeshore Learning

Join your nearest Lakeshore Learning Store every Saturday for free and fun crafts for kids. The West LA, Newton, New Hyde Park & East Brunswick locations also have crafts available every Sunday from 11 am-3 pm. (Free)

Memorial Park Bandshell

The City of Sierra Madre hosts an annual summer Concerts in the Park series every Sunday through August. Concerts are free to the public and open to all ages. Concerts begin from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm, and are held in the Memorial Park Bandshell, 222 W. Sierra Madre Blvd. next to City Hall. Seating is on the green and you are encouraged to bring your own blankets and lawn chairs.
