Hot Wheels Garage features displays of life-size cars and numerous Hot Wheels tracks and cars to race with. Besides the cars, there will be art projects, face painting, balloon artist, train rides, prizes and raffles. The ADM will also be featuring a special $2 kid’s sundae in the Ice Cream Station ice cream parlor. Cost: $10 adults, $5 ages 10-17, free for under 9.


L.A. Nature Fest

Explore the wild side of Los Angeles at NHMLA. Meet an opossum, do lunch with a rattlesnake, and go for a walk with a desert tortoise. Museum scientists will be on hand to answer your questions about snails, bugs, birds, and all things city nature.

Festival Highlights Include: Over 30 exhibitor booths in partnership with local organizations; Access to scientists and nature experts to answer all your questions; Live animal presentations, stage performances and nature walks; Expert tips on how to attract wildlife to your garden; Nature crafts​; And early morning bird walks. Cost: $7-$15.


Hermosa Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade

In what has become a popular tradition in Hermosa Beach, the parade draws about 20,000 spectators and participants who go to enjoy the family affair as well as the great dining, shopping and beautiful beach weather that Hermosa Beach has to offer.

The Irish theme of Saint Patrick’s Day is celebrated by the many participants in the festivities including bagpipers from the Emerald Society, floats, horses and four legged friends from the Irish Setters Club of Southern California. Check the site for the full route. [Free]

This Sunday Celebrate with a free street festival promising all the wonderful food, music, and craft stalls. Visit over 100 crafters and exhibits. Butterfly Pavilion

Butterflies are taking flight at NHMLA again! Get up close to beautiful butterflies in the new Butterfly Pavilion. This seasonal exhibit features more flight space, more resting spots, and more natural light. There will be hundreds of free-flying butterflies inside, and awesome Gallery Interpreters who can explain why these animals are so special. Cost: $17-$20.
