Every holiday season, Downtown Santa Monica brings a little ice skating to the beach-side community and transforms the corner of Fifth Street and Arizona Avenue into Ice at Santa Monica, into the winter wonderland known as Ice at Santa Monica, an 8,000-square-foot ice-skating rink. You can explore the far reaches of the world, seeking out some of nature’s most amazing animals. Instead of working on sight words, you will have animal sightings; instead of reading comprehension you will help others comprehend your discoveries by sharing stories about what you saw and did. This safari experience is for Kindergarteners through sixth graders and is $75 per child. The class starts at 9am through 4pm. Extended care is available for additional $5. Every Friday through the end of November, you can hear a free jazz concert at LACMA in the grand entrance. Go early so the kids can enjoy running around Hancock Park and the tar pits before the concert starts. We recommend blankets, jackets, blanket or picnic chairs while you listen to the jazz. The museum is free after 5 p.m. on Fridays (Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays too!), so be sure to check out the latest exhibits.

16th Annual Tree Lighting Concert at Citadel Outlets

Over 18,000 LED bulbs will light up the World’s Tallest Live-Cut Tree (115 ft.) on Saturday, Nov. 11 during the grand finale of Citadel Outlets' 16th Annual Tree Lighting Concert. The free concert is a family-friendly holiday tradition and will include a mix of original pop songs and holiday favorites. This year's concert will run from 5pm-8pm and kick-off with a high-energy performance by John Lindahl followed by the headline act, Forever In Your Mind. At 7pm, Santa Claus will join the performers on stage for the tree lighting. The 30-person chorus will treat the crowd to classic holiday favorites.
