Dinosaurs once dominated the Earth, and this weekend they are taking over Los Angeles for the 2nd annual Dino Fest at NHMLA! Join for a two-day festival celebrating dinosaurs, their prehistoric past, and the science that brings their world back to life. Meet world-renowned paleontologists from the Museum's Dinosaur Institute and beyond as they discuss historic and ongoing fossil discoveries from around the world. Visit exhibitors, catch a glimpse of rare specimens from the Museum’s collections, dig into hands-on activities, explore the world renowned Dino Hall with the world’s only Tyrannosaurus Rex growth series, and so much more!
Museum Day Live is an annual event hosted by Smithsonian magazine in which participating museums across the country open their doors to anyone presenting a Museum Day Ticket for free. Tickets can be reserved in advance, and popular museums fill up early! Participating museums include the Zimmer Children’s Museum, California Science Center, PMCA, CAAM, JANM, Autry, The Craft and Folk Art Museum, The Grammy Museum and many others.

It's a concert outside in Reed Park this Saturday for all families! Pacific Opera Project performs a lively free concert featuring recognizable arias, duos and melodies from world famous operas. The company will also sneak preview their upcoming production in the historic Miles Memorial Playhouse; two original GHOST stories, "The Medium" and "Monkey's Paw." Take your picnic basket, lawn chairs, beverages, and snacks for this wonderful outdoor family show.

The Santa Monica Pier Aquarium hosts story time in the Dorothy Green Room every Saturday at 2pm, followed by a live animal presentation. Children love to hear a good story, and the Aquarium has a nearly endless supply of books celebrating life of the sea. And while you're there, be sure to get a hug from a sea urchin, check out the new-born sharks in the nursery, make a marine-themed craft to take home and learn about more than 100 species on exhibit, all found in the Santa Monica Bay.
