Coastal Cleanup Day

Thousands of people will amass beaches, rivers, parks, schools and watersheds throughout the state of California this Saturday for Coastal Cleanup Day, the world’s largest volunteer day to protect the ocean. This is a wonderful opportunity to teach your kids to be good members of society! Go to Heal the Bay's website for more information, map of locations, and to register. You'll need to print out the waiver in advance. This event is free and open to ages 4 and over. Cleaning supplies are provided.

Feast on a little knowledge while the swell and horn sharks chow down. You can watch and listen to an informative presentation about these often misunderstood animals while the horn and swell sharks cruise around the tank, noses out of the water, mouths open, anticipating the meal to come. Expect a splash of seawater if you’re close enough to the exhibit. Everyone is invited to make a fun shark craft to take home.

Kidical Mass - Talk Like a Pirate Massive ride

Take your bikes out and ride with other families this weekend. The Kidical Mass rides are to help families feel develop comfort riding in the city. This ride is on International Talk Like a Pirate Day and is also part of the 3rd annual Worldwide Family Bike Ride, an attempt at biggest global family bike ride ever.
