Hidden inside Griffith Park is the Carolwood Barn also known as Walt Disney’s Barn a historic landmark, where some of Disney’s creations were invented. In 1950, Walt Disney built a 1/8th scale live-steam railroad at his residence in Holmby Hills. He operated the "Carolwood Pacific Railroad" for family and friends until 1953 when he shifted his energies into creating a magical place where families could have fun together. This Sunday the barn will host a FREE open house, giving guests of all ages a chance to come and experience this local treasure.

This FREE event promotes the four South Bay beach cities, the world’s best lifeguard service, and physical fitness for thousands of participants. Participants range in age from 8 years old to the 80’s. There will be surfing contest, bodysurfing contest, beach run, paddleboard races, dory race, and youth events.
